Week 1 March 24-27th Engagement Opportunities
This week, focus on finding ways to create art with materials that you have at home. Below is a choice board of different ideas to choose from to inspire your creation process. Challenge yourself to spend about 20 minutes 2 times this week on 1-2 of the choice options from the provided list. Think about how you can apply what we have learned about shading, color mixing, and 3-D construction this semester in class to your work this week. Be sure to ask for permission BEFORE you use any materials around the house to create any of the choice options from the list. I will post examples and additional resources to inspire your creative process throughout the week. Feel free to email me at: [email protected] with any questions or to share examples of work you create and I will post examples throughout the week :) I hope you enjoy exploring the options to create this week at home!

The video tutorial below demonstrates how to use coffee grounds to create a painting. You can also use tea grounds from a tea bag if you do not have coffee :) Give it a try & see how it works!
The video demonstration below illustrates how to use Zentangle patterns to illustrate a coffee cup. Remember: ZENTANGLES are patterned designs. You can also use a paper cup or plate if you do not have styrofoam :)
The video below shows the work of sculptor Bernard Williams who uses found objects to create sculptures. There is also a brief demonstration on how to use found objects at home to create your own artwork :)
