7th grade
7th grade Art is a semester course for students during the elective block in the junior high
schedule. This year, students will have several opportunities to learn about different artists
and styles of art from around the world, learn about how art and design influences their
everyday lives, and explore how they can use a variety of art materials to illustrate various
concepts and techniques. Projects we work on include: art appropriation painting, color
scheme shield designs, amusement park perspective, balancing toys, and Pop Art ceramics.

Bell WorkEach day there will be a question to answer or a short, drawing exercise for students to complete on their weekly bell work sheet at the beginning of class.

ProjectsStudents have several class days to work on projects. Students will also work on various drawing activities in order to help them improve their drawing skills and techniques as they relate to given projects.

RubricsStudents will complete a self-grading rubric and turn it in with each completed project for a grade. Students can always redo any project or assignment and resubmit it for a revised grade.
