Main GoalsThere are two main goals that I hope to accomplish among art classes on remote learning days. These goals are as follows:
Goal 1. I hope to create engaging opportunities that allow students to strengthen their creativity by exploring the virtual art world and by experimenting with new 2-D and 3-D media (materials) in their art making processes. Goal 2. I hope to create a virtual classroom environment that encourages students to collaborate and connect with their families, classmates, teachers, and practicing artists from around the world by inviting them into their own art making processes. Learning TargetsEach week, students will be encouraged to choose ONE of four choice board options to complete and submit by the end of the week in order to receive teacher feedback. Each of the four options will give students a specific target to focus on in order to increase their understanding of previously learned art skills and to apply their knowledge to new artistic discoveries and experimentations. Students will also have opportunities throughout the week to share their artwork with fellow classmates and be encouraged to participate in the creation of weekly choice board options by responding to teacher feedback. The specific targets of the weekly choice board options are as follows:
Option 1 Family Activity Target: Students will be encouraged to collaborate with their families and to include them in their art making process. Option 2 YouTube Tutorial Target: Students will be encouraged to view both 2-D and 3-D media demonstrations by current, practicing artists and apply what they learn to the creation of their own artwork in order to enhance their overall art making abilities. Option 3 Virtual Museum Tour Target: Students will be encouraged to virtually explore different art museums and visual art creations from around the world and create their own work inspired by their experiences. Option 4 Media Exploration Target: Students will be encouraged to develop creative solutions to a given challenge by experimenting with new art tools, media, and techniques. |
